The first part of the name comes from the English word "Route" with the end coming from "AN" which is at the end of all Volkswagen European production vans.
The Routan is ready for the family on the go with a 251 hp 4.0L V6, automatic Tiptronic transmission and a 5 star safety rating.
Several different trim levels allow each family to personalize the Routan to meet their specific needs. Standard on all Routans are power windows, power lock with keyless entry, ESP, cruise control, AC and a list of many other features. Keep the rear passengers with optional rear DVD entertainment systems and never get lost optional Nav system.
